Today I started a book called Bronx Masquerade by Nikki Grimes. It’s about a group of black high schoolers who are faced with the hardhships of life. They are ready to give up on life themselves. There constantly looking for a guidance and love from anyone whos around. There only escape from life is through poetry. Poetry changed their perspective of life. Either it’s going to make them or break them.
- The book seems like its going to be very interesting. People are always going through things in life and there looking for an escape out of it. And with the kids their escape is poetry. Very different from any escape way I’ve heard of.
